Q. Is this confidential?
A. Absolutely. You decide when and where and if you are going to tell others about Pure Restoration. Your credit card statement will show a charge for "PR DFW" and all materials are provided via the web, e-mail, or when you get here. If you request we send you something via mail, the sender will be marked as "PR DFW".
However, we do strongly encourage all married men who attend the Workshop to discuss this with their wives prior to attending.
Q. Do I have to tell my wife?
A. As mentioned above, we suggest that you do, but it is not a requirement for attendance -- nor will it limit your ability to have a productive time at the Workshop. We will dedicate some time on the topic of "disclosure to a spouse" at the Workshop if you choose to wait until after attending.
Q. Can I force my husband to go?
A. You can try. God can use many different circumstances -- and can work in men's hearts whether they are going willfully or at someone else's urging. We prefer men who are here because they want to be and are ready for change.
Q. How do I know it will work?
A. While there is no guaranteed way to solve pornography addiction, we can say from having led thousands of men for over 15 years through this process that it works. The combination of the teaching, breakout groups, counseling, fellowship, praise and worship, and the tools that you will leave with will provide a huge head-start in restoring your life to one centered on Christ -- rather than centered on pornography and sexual sin.
Q. Will my insurance pay for the workshop?
A. Usually, no. But please call us at 1-800-NEW-LIFE to discuss potential insurance reimbursement.
Q. What do I need to bring?
A. Yourself, rested and ready to attack this problem. Your Bible. The basics you would pack when traveling - clothes, toiletries, and other basic items. You will be staying at an all suites hotel so will not need linens or other supplies. Please do NOT bring your laptop or other work materials -- you will not have time to catch up on work. Do bring work-out clothes if you so desire - there is a gym at the hotel and a pool.
The Workshop is produced by New Life Ministries, a nonprofit organization based in California and run by men and women who are committed to turning the tide of the Internet pornography battle.
Q. Is it a requirement for me to stay for the entire workshop--and to stay at the hotel?
A. Yes. Some have asked if they can come to the Workshop during the day, and stay at home at night. We do not allow this for a few reasons. One of the most valuable elements of the Workshop is that it is very immersive - you are here for 3 days straight with only one mission -- to recover from sexual addiction. Additionally, it would be very distracting to you and those in your group if you were leaving and coming back during the event and especially if you were delayed in returning or were caught in traffic and late to part of the Workshop.
Q. Who should attend the workshop?
A. Men 16 years old and older (there will be a wide age range at each Workshop) who are personally dealing with sexual sin -- and especially when the behavior has become unmanageable.
